New Server (Sadies Semi-legit) Please Read

new server going up in a few minutes, 10 zone servers and a damn fast connection... please log on and try things out, im still learning how to give the right access to people (as far as commands) so dont get mad if something doesnt work, but please do try it out so i can see how many users i can handle (4.4 server)

edit- okay i got 15 zoneservers running reliably and all my permissions set

search summonitem level zone heal mana and movechar all work

if you want aa's ya gotta earn them for now =) im basically panning on doing something similar to what raid addicts had going on but on 4.4 until 5.0 is more stable... so please login and try my server out ) heal and mana wont work for much longer, they are just there for the first few days to let people test

Well so far I've had 5 simultaneous logins, I have assigned one GM, people report excelent ping times and almost no packet loss, I have 15 running zones (yay) and I'm in the process of doing away with #level #heal #mana, I'm doing database updates, so expect maybe 10 minutes of downtime when I reboot server probably early in the afternoon when most people are not playing...

I've started custom armor for each class similar to planar armorat lvl 65 but with better stats and effects, characters lvl 1 will have access to this armor (which at lvl 1 will be not as strong as lvl 65 of course) Also working on implementing new effects as you gain levels (at the moment I'm considering starting all new players at lvl 1, let them level to 30, then an npc will grant them lvl 55 for their effort.

If i do get this armor in action i will be doing away with summonitem and having vendors in the bazaar(probably)
with spell reagents and other toys necessary to play effectively as well as jewelry etc

Also working in some armor quests to upgrade the default armor i am creating. (any quested armor will be req 60+)

in general im attempting to bring a Raid Addicts clone to 4.4 and when 5.0 is stable i will upgrade or not depending on my players.

right now i could use 1 or 2 people to help with development as i only have about 10% of what i mentioned completed.. after everything is done ill do a dump of the DB and maybe a char wipe to bring the new features / rules forward

Ide love to help you, I made my own server before. It was a 4.4 server and is still up but I get bored cause not alot of people connect to it. So ill help you out if you need it. My server has custom NPC's, quests, zones, and more.

I've been spending some time on the server. Very stable, and very low lag. Sure there's some features that Sadie is still working on putting in, but everything She's done so far is rock solid. you should give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

omg!!! omg omg omg!!!! for the last 5 days (i think) ive been working nonstop (like at a job) hence nothing has changed on the server yet... i have the next 2 days to myself so ill be implementing promised quests / changes asap =) as for the offer to help (goes for anyone) , email me faerae_mt@yahoo.com and we can figure out some stuff together... maybe i can set someone up as a sysop to help me spawn some zones that need revamped =)

IRC is not for the faint of heart.. I've found that quite a few of the people that hang out there outside of the dev team are idiots, and aholes...

You'll usually catch me kicking people at random for being smucks... I'll look over the logs today as you obviously got nubbed by some of them today and put my IRC boot of buttkicking on.. I'm really getting sick and tired of people in that channel that have nothing better to do than harass other users.

I agree, and as a result, I've taken #eqemu off of my autojoin list.

it just sucks when people like me are new with server admin and get knocked down by people for asking simple questions... =(

Most of the people being jerks in IRC dont know the answeres anyway :lol:

I cant have #EQEMU on when my kids are home, there use to be a time it was work and family friendly but thats changed latly, people with questions are better off not bothering to go there.

thats just sad =(
