EQW and EQUEmu problems

Whenever I try to use EQ with EQW I get this error right after it's done patching:

EverQuest EQMAIN.DLL Error
surface_blit: Blit failed code 88760082! x,y = (0,0) src(0, 0, 640, 480)

I'm in 16 bit color mode at 1024x768.

Everquest is in 16 bit color at 800x600.

Also, when I try to log onto my EQEmu, with MiniLogin.exe, I'm able to get into the server select and start loading the world, but when it's ready to go to the character selection screen it boots me back to the Server Select.. I just get the standard 1017 error, unsure of what to try next. EQ is the most recent patch available, I'm running Windows 2k with a Geforce 2 MX 400.

My apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but I couldn't find it.

Try patching with complete file check.. are there any other 16bit color modes? high/low color? try using a differant one.

delvecieo 04-06-2002 10:27 AM

I am having the exact same problem does anyone know how to repair it?

Shawn319 04-06-2002 11:03 AM

Try deleteing EQW.ini and eqclient.ini

Read_Me_txt 04-06-2002 03:02 PM

I have this problem as well, exact same error.

Tryied 800x600 16bit color
and
Ive tried reinstalling my video card drivers,

The thing just dont work.

Why do we need it anyway?

Cant we start eqgame with the patchme method from the command line?

Timeout 04-06-2002 03:13 PM

I was having the same problem with EWQ. By accident i was in 32bit color and ran EWQ, it ran wierd at first but once you get past all the login screens it runs just fine for me. Hope that helps.

delvecieo 04-09-2002 04:49 AM

TehTrad did you ever figure out how to get past that error?

ibleet 04-09-2002 08:09 AM

Yes, just run eqgame.exe patchme from the command line. But remember...eqw is preferred.

TehTrad 04-09-2002 09:58 AM

No.. not yet.

Still get the same error reguarding EQW, even tried going into 32bit color mode as Timeout said it worked for them past the first few screens. I still get the blit eror, although the window did something that time (corrupted lines).

I've tried deleting eqclient.ini and eqw.ini still nothing.

However, I'm more anxious to get EQEmu to work. Still get a 1017 error past server select, is there anything wrong with what

This is the error I see when I try and login

I also tried putting the zone names instead of the . in boot5zones.bat, no change.

Anymore ideas? Or need any more information?
I have yet to a through file check with EQ if that's the only option... waiting for my DSL service, 2 more weeks to go.

Nightfall 04-09-2002 12:54 PM

Dunno if this is it at all, but isn't the port supposed to be set to 5999 for minilogin or eqemu sever? *shrug* I was fortunate enough not to have any problems there...

delvecieo 04-23-2002 04:23 AM

Hey Tehtrad did you ever get the emulator to work if so how did you get past the bitblt problem?

PS sorry for rehashing old topics.

Can you connect to a server on the internet?
Are the zone windows showing any activity?

dr_madd 04-24-2002 04:14 AM

connect to internet server

Yes I can connect to the internet.

I forget the server but it is the eqemu default server.

I saw a list of a bunch of peoples servers.

i try to log into one,

it loads up everything...

the gives me the same error,

something about the patch server.

Madd

zone servers not doing anything, up as normal but "sleep"

Lurker_005 04-24-2002 06:05 AM

Then I would have to quess it is problem with your eqverquest not being patched. Connecting to an internet server only requires the eqhost.txt file. Your connecting to the login server, so that shouldn't be a problem. EQW and eqgame patchme both cause the problem, so I doubt eqw has anything to do with it. That just leaves your everquest itself.

Patch to the current eq live files and try. Be aware though, that Verant is updating the patch (today? tomorrow?) and that will break EQEmu for a few days till it is fixed.
