I'm new, having given up on my copy of EQ back in 2001 due to subscription costs. So, I really don't know what I'm talking about here, but it might be worth discussing, since I noticed how much trouble people (including me
are having with patch syncronisation with "EQlive".
Windows Firewalls often wrap apps and ask the user if they want that app to be given net access. So I was thinking... couldn't EQ's patcher be wrapped with something that first checks a site to check if it's safe to patch before allowing the patcher to talk to EQ official patch servers?
Also.. and this might be more difficult or impossible... perhaps a list of acceptable patches could be downloaded, and then the files available could be filtered before being passed to the EQ patcher?
