Some items are of great concern; others are not. Mostly, EqEmu developers want to try to make the gameplay experience the most like EQLive, and strive first for big things--like AA working properly, quests working properly, and implementing a proper spawn database. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of people who can code out there, and there's fewer who want to code for an emulator for an older game, and there's even fewer who want to dig through the giant source and try to decipher it. By no means is it a paying job to build this emulator. Most everybody finds what little free time they have to work on it and contribute in their own little way, so there are definitely some outstanding issues with gameplay at this time, and will likely always be, since Sony has a paid workforce with likely several devs. Until EQ dies out and Sony stops putting out new expacs every five months, EQEmu will always be behind Live servers in features.
Unfortunately, armor style is probably more of a back-burner task right now, since some major problems such as AA implementation issues still exist. These issues can definitely be resolved, but some bugs take hours, days, or even weeks or months to fix, depending on the severity, and less gameplay-hindering bugs are typically of smaller concern, so will likely go unresolved for quite some time.
