Did you install the IO-Stringy, DBI and DBD-MySQL packages? It sounds like you're missing one of those packages as per the guide. I could be wrong, and if that's not it, try and get the Perl version from
http://www.activestate.com/downloads/ (AFTER you uninstall the latest perl, of course.)
