Anytime you want to run a "server" from behind a router you have to know how to configure the router.

If some computer on the internet tries to connect to you IP, the router has no clue which computer on your lan to send the data to (unless you setup your router). FTP HTTP ect are different, your computer is the one making the connection OUT the router. The IP addresses 192.168.*.* mean NOTHING to the computer on the internet side of your router.
