Seems like you got your Windows install confused with Linux - I thought 'ppm' was an option for some of the Linux distros.
If you're trying get a server running, you might want to try
Leslamarch's server install, includes everthing you need, and is as easy as you can get.
Only thing is, it contains its on login server - so you would direct other players to your login server instead.
