Hmm.. My take on it is if youre just going to get pissed about people asking dumb questions in the only publicly available eqemu channel, then you may really want to reconsider hanging out in there... Patience is a virtue, and personally, fostering that kind of crappy attitude is just going to add to the general concenus that the dev's are a*holes that most projects end up getting (this project as well).

I know how frustrating hearing the same questions over and over can be, but a developer that randomly boots people out of the channel for asking questions is not good for the image of the project... Yes, there are alot of questions that are answered in the readme's, but coming from someone who's relied on reference material his entire life, even the most well documented information still doesnt answer every question, especially since not everyone is coming from the educational/experience plateau.

I don't know how long you've been involved with the project Kath, I've been working with the emulator pretty much from the beginning, but I don't think coming in and starting to be the judge, jury and executioner of the IRC channel is doing anyone any good... I value everyone's contributions to the project, whether it be in the development of the emulator, tools, or databases, but I hate to see that kind of holier-than-thou IRC attitude.

Personally, I don't hang out in the channel anymore as I almost never saw any real eqemu related discussions in there, so it really doesnt matter to me. Things may have changed though since I haunted the channel.

My 2 cents though..
