If you legally own the software you are allowed to create a legal backup copy just in case something like this were to happen. CRC is nothing more than a error correction method and sometimes when you get read errors during installation it only happens because the drive is trying to read the disc really fast. Try creating an image of the original disc and then extract the information you need from that copy. When creating the image file use the slowest read speed possible and you may also have to alter the error correction methods used.
