Are you sure it is the SoD client and not Underfoot? Underfoot has known issues with the dbstr_us.txt file and that file needs to be replaced with a complete version preferably from Live or SoD. The one that comes with underfoot is only a partial file and has many missing strings.

If it really is SoD, then I am not sure how to resolve that offhand. It may be that the West Freeport you are in is the old one and the strings were removed and replaced with the ones for the new West Freeport in SoD.
