Are you able to log that account in on other servers? If so, the issue is EZ specific and it will have to be resolved by either you on your client or by Hunter on the EZ server. If you are using any 3rd party programs, even WinEQ, I suggest you try disabling them and see if that makes any difference. They could be causing a shared UI or ini file to be loaded that is causing the problem even after you deleted them from your EQ folder.
