Sorry, didn't work
Thank you for replying, Shawn. I am sure you are busy.
I deleted the current eqhosts.txt, and downloaded as you suggested. No change. I had tried dloading that file before, as suggested in the well writted instructions. I am just stuck with no new ideas to try. It really doesn't make sense to me, since the file is there, and either going outside my home network or inside (localhost) gives the same error. Of course I make the appropriate changes to the text files (login, hosts etc) depending on which I am trying.
Here is some further info:
- I ran the world.exe with the eqemu command switches once to set the account.
- I have no active EQ account with Verant.
- This is a first-time install of EQ on this machine.
- I had tried all the eqemu instructions without and then with the initial, official patching. (*many* times each)
- World.exe startup states everything done, except no time available, but then moves past that and says connected to minilogin.
- Each time I start EQ (with or without EQW) I get the Verant End User Agreement, at which I choose 'Yes".
Perhaps these will give you an idea. I am fresh out of them. :( I would even settle for just connecting to your services, as easy as that sounded in the instructions. But of course that gives the same Error 1010. Going back to work; hopefully you can think of something. Thanks again.
