I'm with you as far as the majority of the DB operations using phpMyAdmin, but it's pretty handy to get in and do one-off stuff when you're, well, wherever.
I've always had a Linux server with mostly Windows boxes on the client side (since that's what EQ runs on, after all), but I've done a bit on the Linux side too and just figured I'd share. I didn't mean to disparage you in any way.
