Shadowed Eclipse – The Road to the End of an Era
It's hard to believe, but we're finally approaching the conclusion of the original Shadowed Eclipse storyline (server 1.0) as we move toward Planes of Power Chapter 5.
Development of this chapter has been a long journey. When work first began, progress moved at a solid pace. As many of you know, however, real life has a way of demanding attention, and between those responsibilities and a temporary loss of momentum, development entered a lengthy lull.
The good news is that things are firmly back on track.
At this point, the core content is approximately 60% complete. That figure reflects the primary progression content only and does not include the optional and expanded content systems that many players have come to associate with Shadowed Eclipse, including the various Reflected encounters and additional challenges.
Once the foundational content is finished, there is still considerable work ahead. Every NPC encounter will require another balancing pass, loot tables must be built, and I need to revisit a large collection of item and loot concepts provided by fellow developers to determine how rewards and progression will ultimately be structured and handed out.
There is still much to do, but for the first time in quite a while, the finish line is clearly visible.
The final chapter will have 14 boss encounters and a few minis. Plus a Reflected encounter or two perhaps?
Meanwhile, the story continues to unfold.
Nyseria and the Coven have waited patiently. Through every victory and every setback, their influence has continued to spread through the shadows. Soon, they will offer you a choice: embrace the Coven and join their ranks, or remain defiant and risk becoming the next sacrifice upon their altar.
The end of Shadowed Eclipse draws near.
The question is whether you will survive long enough to witness it. Because as many of you may know it is not an easy server by any means and there is a ton of content this includes the main storyline and the offshoots.
So, take your Vyvance, you're gonna need it.
