I suspect that this is the case for a lot of people having problems with the patcher. Guess that's one good thing about still being on a dial-up connection.
Yeah, after suggesting this to you I updated my local server setup instructions (link in my sig) to include the same info. I conveyed to you, & it's now stickied.
