Default Problem fixed...

Even if the fixes provided in this forum seem redundant and void of logic - try them! I couldn't believe that running one command line prompt fixed my local login 'error 1017' via minilogin. I will explain.

This was suggested as such by OverlordvI:

1) Go to the command prompt (Start -> Run -> CMD in 2K, or go to Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt).

2) Go to your EqEmu directory (mine is on c:\EQEmu)

3) Type this exactly:

world adduser eqemu eqemu 200

This worked! I am not sure why I couldn't just edit my current account with the FQAdmin tool and give myself the SysOp permission '200'. But it didn't work in my case until I created the new account using this command line.

This doesn't mean you have to use eqemu eqemu as per the suggestion. You can use this same command line and replace the username and password with anything. Somehow, there is a difference in how the record his stored in the database via the command line as oppose to other methods.

WARNING FOR NEWBIES! This will not correct the 1017 error that most are getting. This fix only pertains to local login via the minilogin prog (logging into a local world that you have created on your system). If you are getting 1017 errors when logging onto other servers via the EqEmu login server, this fix does not have anything to do with you. In which case you would still get the 1017 error when logging into any server, including your own.
