The same thing happened in the states years ago. A teenager went nuts, and everyone blamed it on D&D... Ultimately, it's just an outlet for an already screwed up mind, but in this day and age, everyone needs a scapegoat so they don't have to place the blame on their own inadequecies as role models.
It doesnt take much, the public in general loves a villian to blame the problems of the youth on, every few years its something different... D&D, Rap music, violence on tv, video games..
It'll be back around to D&D pretty soon....
