that is problaby the problem you are having.. There is a known issue with everquest. Check out this post maybe it will answer some questions:

The issue witht the face resetting, is a known eqemu issue, and Im sure they will work on that... However Im not sure that that problem takes top priority.. Post that in the bug section.
