Well depending on what he has turned on it very well could be.
It sounds like problems I had back in the day on Live when I was running short on ram. As for playing EQ on a 500mhz with 32 megs of ram... originally maybe, but I can't imagine you playing with that setup now. Maybe if you only had Classic installed and were running in 640x480. Hehe
