Thanks for the reply! Got one step further on the way. It now shows as 0.5.5DR1(?), but the same problem as mentioned in edit3 remains: I'm getting 1017 error. There's tons of topics about this I know, and I know that it's either that my EverQuest version doesn't comply with eqemu (And I HAVE patched to the newest, just so you know this detail). Other thing is the firewall thing. It would be nice to know if EverQuest in its current, patched stage is still compatible with eqemu, so that I know it's that. And in the other case, I'll know it's a NAT problem.

And yeah, of course I can just rename it, I /bonked myself on the head for that one

Edit1: Just to see if I can still connect I tried another server (meaning, not mine) and tried to log on. Worked perfectly. I didn't go further than character select screen, as I didn't think it was necessary.
So unless there's a difference in EQ version compatability from joining a server to hosting a server, it must be a firewall of some sort causing it.
And the other big mystery: Firewall is not up, but it still won't connect.
