If it says 'station name', your eqhost.txt is pointing to live, or you are patching to live, which overwrites the eqhost.txt.
Follow the guide here to change your eqhost.txt and create a shortcut to eqgame with the patchme option to avoid patching.

Although it is counter-intuitive, the 'patchme' option actually means 'don't run the patcher'
