I don't believe the new activation process is live yet. Therefore you can get started
here.
If you have not already patched to the latest you might be able to play on some 5.5 servers. But if you have already patched to the latest, you won't be able to play on 5.6 or higher servers and you just have to wait till the EQEmu Devs fix that. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)
