You said it Itlruss. I agree with you, though I have never served. I think that anyone that puts their life on the line or even on hold for something that they believe in (our country, or other people's well being) are ALL heroes in my book. This is, IMO, a HUGE sacrifice....

If the President would have decided NOT to go in, then he would have been ridiculed for NOT taking any action, so he is damned if he does and damned if he doesnt. Does this make him a bad president? No, I think not, just unlucky. Unlucky for being in the wrong place at the wrong time....Are there other reasons for being in Iraq? I don't know, and frankly I don't care, because what we are doing there (at least outwardly) cant be ignored or called something other than what it is. And that is helping someone who cannot help themselves, until they CAN....

My freind and neighbor from across the street is in the reserves and has just been called to active duty. I am actually afraid for him, because he is NOT going to be with other US soldiers, but he is going to train Afghanistanian <sp> troops.
