Chapter 2
Ecology - The scientific study of interactions among organisms and their environments.
Ecological study reveals relationships among living and nonliving parts of the world. Uses information and techniques from math, chemistry, physics, Geology, and other branches of biology.

Biosphere - the portion of Earth that supports life. Extends from high in the atmosphere to the bottom of the oceans. May seem big but if you shrank the earth to the size of an apple the biosphere would be thinner than the apple
