Default Cannot login to my own server

Hello,

I attached a screenshot.

https://imgur.com/a/YzAdlR2

When I press Play Everquest, it just doesn't log me in. It says:

"An unknown error occurred while trying to join the server.

I am not sure at which step of the process I screwed up. Doing this for the first time.

The rough steps I took:

Download EQ through steam
Start launcher so it updates
Install the server using the .bat file
Created desktop shortcut and added "patchme" in target line

Fire Beetle,

It looks like you have done what the directions said to do.

I wish I could help, but I am having the exact same problem.

Hopefully someone will give us some help.

I don't know where you got the instructions you followed, but in the eqemu docs, you'll see supported clients: https://docs.eqemu.io/#supported-clients

RoF2 is the latest supported client.

You can tell by your screenshot (the truebox column, among the UI) that you're using the latest EQ client (LS). This is not supported by eqemu. So, you need to get the RoF2 client.

If you don't own an RoF2 client, you can check out the ezserver getting started http://wiki.ezserver.online/Getting_Started or other means to obtain it.
