I doubt anyone has a permanent classic server. The FV project is currently classic, TurmoilToad's vision is once Kunark is unlocked a second server will spin up. Characters that wish to progress can transfer onto the Kunark server. on leaving 1 classic and 1 Kunark server and so on. At least thats how I understand it.

I am also working on a semi-custom progression server that will start in a sort of weird mesh between Classic and Kunark.

I'm actually suprised that, after all these years, nobody persisted with an original era. Not even P99 stuck with "1999". But, I guess if someone is building for the player community, with intentions of generating a population, or building with their own visions makes all the difference in the end goal.

There has probably been many that have wanted to build one and keep it locked at the original, (no expansions), but lack of interest from the modern player community may discourage them.

The FV Project is about as close to original era as one could get, with the exception that is does indeed mimmick the original FV server (all droppable loot), with a modern RoF2 client.

It would all depened on what an individual is looking for when they use words like "classic" or "original". Are they looking for the mechanical grind that goes with it ? Or are they looking for some QoL, etc. ? There is actually some people out there that truly believe the words "custom" and "classic" can not go in the same sentence.

FV like new classic.

Mage pets are like modern EQ. Super OP and way stronger than classic. Wizards can critical strike with their spells which isn't classic and some of the numbers are way higher than classic.

There's other changes too like no exp loss on death.

In our quest to reach a classic state, pets have recently been revamped. We'd appreciate any feedback you have.

Also, you do lose XP on death (I left XP loss on death turned off after a special event and strangely nobody reported it). We do have lots of special events to keep it interesting, so please come by and check things out.
