Default scribespell issue

hey guys good afternoon This is in the venn diagram of spells but GM commands so not sure where to best put this

about a year ago i hotkeyed a bunch of gm commands to quickly gear up/lvl up chars (bag sets, non vis gear etc), then max skills, set level, and scribespells 100,1

scribespells isnt working anymore post the newest server database upgrade via spires ( i pretty much run vanilla, only have a couple custom items - a drunkard stein!) so a reinstall isnt scary. But i havent done anything i can think of aside from doing the 4gb fix and laying in the new spells.us file from lazarus. Is my rootcause the spells file?

gut says yes but was wondering if anyone else had encountered this before

thanks all!

ahhh scribespell is a gm flag on ability. So even though i could do all the other set max skills/disc/level/gear, i couldnt scribe the spells to the target without having #set GM on

ill leave up in case anyone hits this or kill if addressed elsewhere and i couldnt find it

It sounds like the issue might be related to the updated server database or the new spells file. I’d guess that the spells.us file could be the root cause, especially since you mentioned you replaced it with the one from Lazarus. Have you tried reverting to the original spells.us file or checking if there were any changes in the database that might’ve affected how GM commands work?
