View Full Version : Looks like SOE reduced item.cost for many items on 11/5

FYI, I am finding that some items are selling back to merchants for less than the values collected in the item DB prior to 11/5, even after adjusting by the factor of 1.05.

e.g., in the item DB, Golden Ruby Ring, item.id 14694, last updated 10/26, has a cost of 155250, which means merchants buy it for 155250 / 1.05 = 147,857cp (~148pp), assuming CHA >= 104 and indif or better faction. I'm pretty sure this is what they used to pay.

But now merchants only pay 135pp for a ring with the same item.id, which means the value for item.cost must have changed to 141750.

Or, is it possible that the algorithm for calculating merchant buyback prices has changed for some items? It is still the same for most items, so it would have to be a conditional change of some kind.

I'm also wondering how the update logic works in the collector? When does it know to replace the old values?
