Thanks guys (Developers), your all doing a wonderful job.

And thanks to Jezebell for his really easy to undestand setup guide.

Ive never had to post anything until now.

I have 8 2U rackmounted servers available to me now, and would like to know how I can create a multiple emu server setup.
(all the same hardware - dual P3/1GB Ram/Raid5 4 HDD array)

My Internet connection for the servers are on a fiber optic 100MB down/100MB up line. ( tested at approx. 80MB down/up ) with just one(1) static global IP address.

I would like to setup:

1 server for World
1 server for MySql database.
2 servers for high traffic zones like Bazaar and PoKnowledge (static)
2 servers for static zones (mostly for Pop zones)
1 server for dynamic zones.
and 1 server for reserve (for raids and such)

Lets say I wanted to run one static zone on a server.
Do I edit 'boot5zones.bat' so it'll look like
start <zonename> . myExternalIP Port myInternalIP

Also, since I will be having more than 5 servers, can I use more than 7995 - 7999 ports? or are these hard coded?.

Thanks for your help in advance :D

Yes, just add more lines like this:

start zone <zonename> extIP port intIP

start <zonename> . myExternalIP Port myInternalIP

The correct format is above in italics.

Yes, you can use more than the ports 7995 through 7999, as long as they arent being used by other programs at the time...ive tried using ports all over the board and they work, so go ahead and use up into the 8000's

Good luck.

Thanks for your help in advance

You're welcome.[/quote]

/em drools all over himself.

Wow!

I was looking at something of the same, but on a much smaller scale (3pcs, one single two smp) I found a product from sun microsystems that seems interesting and they have an open version of it free of charge. It's called sun grid engine. May be worth a looksie
