From what I've read in the archives, it seems that certain elements - mainly anything that is animated - cannot be properly exported into a 3DS/OBJ format due to the unknown SOE bones format. Is this still a factor, or has anyone been successful in exporting the character models into a popular format - such as Max?
Also, what is the best way to export landscape/object meshes? OpenZone?

SOE bones format is known. If someone can get me a real working example of an animated model in 3DS I can probably get an exporter into OpenZone for it. It looks like we're gravitating toward using our own file format (XWF), though, for OpenEQ.

I'll try to jump on the woa chat sometime this weekend if you have an example for me...

Would it be possible to add the ability to export the model with no animations at all but have its skeleton, I want the mesh(with skeleton) not the animations.
Back from buisness trip, so I hope this will suit you WC (btw, its not my job). If its not, tell me exactly what you need, because yeah, i have not a clue how EQ models are (just it has bones).
