So, as some of you may know, I have been working on a new item editor as of late. I started a new project from scratch, hence being 3.0 instead of a 2.x. The goal of 3.0 is to make an item editor which does not go outdated whenever a new item structure is released, which happens often. After quite a bit of brainstorming, some trial and error, and help from Liscadipesce, whom did the layout work, I think I have began to accomplish this goal.

In its current state, it may not look like much, but underneath, item editor is doing a great deal. Not only will this version not become outdated, but users can also create their own layout to suit their needs. Along with this, I have also been fine tuning the coding, such as the database code, among other things. I have also done some polishing, which may not make a huge difference, but a nicer program anyways.

I'd like to thank you all for being so patient, during my long departure from EQEMu, and also the last couple weeks. I'd also like to ask everyone to reply with any comments or suggestions you all may have. I love hearing from everyone and getting new ideas for the item editor! Below I have included a few screenshots of Item Editor 3.0 in actions, again, this layout was done by Liscadipesce, thanks again for your help!

P.S. I hope to have an Alpha Stage program with miminal features needed to create/edit items by Sunday the 6th.

It was quite the task making that UI. Lots of guess and testing. Have fun spending 4 hours if you make your own, I hope you have a good attention span, gets boring, unless you have someone to talk to while your doing it.

P.S. make sure you don't show them what your doing, they may bug you about spacing....

Nice work mangoo.

P.S. Rich, leave me a message, I'll take you up on your offer :D

Looks great so far :)

I do have a suggestion though .. Either in the UI itself or whether just a document on the side, how about a Help file?

Something that can describe the maximums, minimums, what certain fields are, etc, so that people know some specific things.

For instance, something that could explain that the spell casttime is recorded in milliseconds, or explaining which field is for 'focus effects' and which is for 'right-click' effects, etc etc.

I'd do it if ya'll think it'd be a good idea, but I'd need some help converting it to one of those nifty help files found in most programs, since I have no idea on how to create something like that.

/shrug .. Just an idea :)

That sounds like a good idea. I was thnking the same thing kind of.

Perhaps mangoo could stick some tooltips for some labels, where you can hover your cursor over them and would give you some tips.
