I would like to have an option to have the console go by the system clock and every event that happens it records when it happened like for example: 4:45 New client connected blaw blaw blaw, something like that and I would like to see a command that freezes the hole server untill you type the command in again it would just stop all pacets but not disconnect the client. This could free up lag from your comp if you need to install something and when you unfreeze it would load all new data that is changed in any ini or db script. Hope you take this in consideration, oww and by the way was hoping you can but a typing area in the console so you can type in all the diff commands that you guys come up with =)

I second that motion to have a datestamp next to server output. Maybe also have it output to a log file. I would like that. SOmething like this

11:30:00- Starting autobootup of 'qeynos2' for Aalin
11:30:02- Zoneserver SetZone: 192.168.0.10:7997 qeynos2
11:30:03- Enter world: Aalin: qeynos2
11:30:05- Zoneserver SetZone: 192.168.0.10:7997 qeynos2
12:02:48- Client disconnected
12:02:48- Removing client from ip:24.91.90.68 port:3690
14:30:52- New TCP connection: 127.0.0.1:33259
14:30:03- TCP console authenticated: Username=*****, Admin=200
14:31:12- TCP command: eqemu: "who all"
15:45:13- Zoneserver SetZone: 192.168.0.10:7997
15:45:13- Zoneserver SetZone: 192.168.0.10:7997
15:45:15- TCP connection timeout: 127.0.0.1:33259
15:46:16- Removing console from ip: 127.0.0.1 port:33259

Woulnt that be easy to do? I am just an amatuer programmer but isnt there a built-in date command?

On a side note, THere is a strange bug where I vreate a character on my linux dedicated server and it doesnt work. My eqclient crashes whever i try to connect with that first char. seemingly independent of race/class, however when i create a second character on the same account and server i can play the second char. just fine. (the first still doesnt work)

I've read why you cannot publish the source to the login server, but howabout one for Linux, in source, with the encryption removed, a server that just disregards passwords, or accepts blank passwords and hands the client over to the server. Ya know, something just for private lan use. I use only linux and setting up a login server on another windows machine is clumsy and i can't keep it up 24/7 like i would be able to; a linux server.
Maybe it can use ip's to keep track of accounts if its not possible to somehow not use encryption and make it work. Something to help the private lan community out ya know?
Best of Luck, Eric

Ya something like a time-stamp would be good.

That's how most all log files are. I was gonna post it, but you guys beat me to it. Real easy to spit that out, I'll look into it.
