Greets,

Thought our code experts might be interested in some logs of the bot behavior in a typical encounter. All casters are melee'ing too but not much. Melee and other data has been removed for clarity Trul = shaman, Lyzanna = Druid, Holt = Cleric, Siri = mage, Griff BST Encounter is against undead Male Forsaken Revenant in Plane of hate.

So concerns:
Holt won't CH me, infact he won't cast anything but Celestial on me.
Siri and Lyzanna are confused with the Banish Summoned Thing
Trul and Lyzanna heal the group pets quite nicely with direct heals, no HOT's
Holt knows how to CH! I captured it on a pet above
Griff, The BST saw about healing me after the fight, the least likely to be healing me!

For what it's worth, were you able to see how low the pets hp's were when CH was cast?
I have observed that I do sometimes get CH but only when I am really low on hp's, sometimes as I am about to die depending on how fast I am going down during a fight. I have been wondering if CH may be triggering for the bot only if a percentage of remaining hit points is reached on a group member. I haven't run any logs on this since I just started wondering about it a couple of days ago.

I didnt happen to be watching the pets HP's. But it could be simply that, a CH is only registered at say 15% of total HP. I remember Angelox did quite a bit of work putting logic together to CH was more reliable. He had done coding work so if HP's were dropping at such a rate that a CH would fire.

But I'm pretty sure the issue is more convoluted as the Cleric casts nothing but the 180/tick HOT.

Yep your right. Logged on lower level toons with me, 2 lan buddies, clericbot and shamanbot. Went to Acrylia Caverns where mobs are about 5 - 7 levels over us right now. Cleric consistently failed to do any normal heals other than hot, without shamanbot we would have been dying constantly. I was even sitting regening health after one nasty pull at around 10% health with both cleric and shaman in direct line of sight, never got after fight heals from EITHER one. I stood up and moved twice to make sure there were no los issues. I sat waiting just to see if either one would eventually heal me but got to full health just from natural regen, don't know what that was about but it only happened once. I'm updated to cavedudes Rev946-Bots and latest svn db.

I don't have time to look into this issue right now as I'm getting my house ready for an appraisal to refinance it and what time i have to code I am committing to overhauling the entity system so I can integrate bots into systems like adventures, raids, guilds, etc. However, I wonder if one of you has the time and ability to see what healing spells are available to the cleric bot at its level this happens at. Look at its spell list and make sure the healing spell you'd expect to be casted is available.

Spell lists have to be hand tuned for priority casting and things like that.

They have been tuned more at 60+ for raid encounters, I believe, and if you're finding error in spell behaviour at levels like 30-50, it's probably because they've been quickly tuned.

I just looked at the listing, there seem to be a priority level from 1 - 10.

I just changed the priority of celestial healing from 1 to 2 and complete heal from 2 to 1.

Hi, a couple more notes.

My toon is now level 60. I've tested a few more encounters Im getting similar results so not sure what the tuning thing is.

The cleric still will not actively heal me. At 60 he's stopped using celestial healing. Now as my bot I want his attention, while I do know some clerics out there that do not heal paladins when warriors are around (hahah)

I did a full database restore so my priorities have reset and probably spell lists too. I'll look deeper into that.

I am able to duplicate this. The Cleric will occasionally cast HOT's but no CH's and he only heals when he feels like it. I changed the spell priority, that did not seem to help. Testing was done on level 65 Bots.

Yes I agree with the above. I have the same problem with my Cleric especially. Just levelled to 65 myself but from about 58 to 65 can not really tell before that as it was older bot code, pre 58.

But with the newer code my Cleric will only cast Hots. Sub 62 that was the 300 per tic hot. Post 62 it was the 600 hot. She casts nothing else healing wise. I do get the odd Cheal but its very rare and I have to be at deaths door.

Also as above I looked at the bot spell lists. Changed it to a better set up. With a heals etc. But it never got cast no matter what level of priority I set it to.

I would also like to add that my cleric bot will only cast HoT's and nothing else, and shaman / druid dont do anything but nuke/dot/buff no heals at all

You might want to check your logs, I noticed shaman and druids healing the crap out of other peoples pets.

By the way those of you who are still getting raid crashes, I've once again reduced my considerably.

I removed all familiar spells from the Wizards spells repetoires (60 and below)

Did Venril Sathir, Juggs in seb, and Trak, (well I cheated on Trak so I didn't take his loot) but I didnt have crashes, and no dissappearing mobs from the massive familiar melee damage.

I can confirm with the others that something is wrong here. I have leveled up from 1 to 36 with a Cleric, Shaman, Monk, and Rogue bot and the only healing I have ever received are HoT spells from the Cleric. (I play an Ogre Warrior)

I am using EQEmu 0.8.0 version 974 and PEQ database.

Yesterday I went in and added Superior Healing to my Cleric and gave it a priority of 100, she still did not cast it and stuck to the HoT. (id 2175, Celestial Healing I think)

So tonight I removed the HoT from her arsenal and left only Superior Healing (I am currently at 36). Here is her spell load-out according to the DB -

I attacked a group of Orcs in Crystal Caverns and both her and the Shaman let me die with 100% mana. :(

Running the same query for the Shaman (NPC 706) I see that he has Greater Healing loaded from 29 to 50 but I have never seen him cast it. At least at level 36 he has a total of 14 spells loaded and I have seen him cast most all the rest. As I recall there was a limit that anymore than 15 spells per level wouldn't work right, but he should still be ok there.

I know for sure this has worked in the past, though I last played around with the Emulator about 8 months ago and a lot of work was being put into these spell load outs. I also know that some work must have been done to get the Clerics to react to dropping HP faster as she will cast a HoT on me with even 1% of health gone. Back then you would have to hit like 70% or so before a heal would start. Perhaps in those changes the BOTs lost the ability to cast direct heals?

Hopefully this helps track the problem down in some way. The BOTs are sooo great now (LOVE the auto maneuvering rogues for backstab) but this is pretty major IMO.

yea this is a pain it is something to do with the regen hp line of spells if you have one on they do not cast any blast heals on you

Aha! Bloodscon you are totally correct. Today I noticed my first direct heal from my cleric, and noticed that Chloroplast had just faded in mid battle. So for the next few battles I purposefully right clicked Chloro off at the start of the fight, which caused the cleric to heal me using direct heals every time!

I guess for the time being I will just remove the slow regen spell line from my shaman, but hopefully that proves to be the clue to a more proper fix. :)

Since the bot devs haven't responded in a while, I think i'll see about submitting my #bot filter code with more testing done.

It is kind of a patch job but should help the bots a bit while they work on this new rennovation!

Please submit anything you have. Although my time is limited currently, I will try to look into submissions to see if they can be included upstream.
