Well, the tutorials are my FAR writen for the novice. I only recently found out that needs to be served from the web server I downloaded. In any way, Apache 2.2.12 came installed with xubuntu, and I installed (I think) php with apt-get install php5 (All I could find that made sense) FINALLY figured out where it SEEMS to store the files (/var/www) so I placed it there, and now I am getting, "You have chosen to open (Big blank space, doesn't tell me what) which is a: application/x-trash from <web page address> What should firefox do with this file?" If I save it, I get index.php.

Can anyone help?

you need to copy:
/etc/apache2/mods-available/php5*
to
/etc/apache2/mods-enabled/

Shadow Wizzard make sure you have installed Flashplayer and Java here is a simple guild to help you out after installing reboot computer then you should no longer see save *.php when trying to use the web browser. you may use this guide below if you don't use the program to auto download the files.

stroll down download Windows Flash Player 9:
* Internet Explorer: Download (1.46 MB)
