Question about the servers

hello guys, im new here!

And im new in EQ universe, too. Im about to catch my EQ soon, and i have a few questions..

Does exist any server that adopts the Roleplay? If does, wich is?

For a new player, like me, wich type of server and server is better to learn?

Thanks. And ifi posted in the wrong place, my bad.

I don't think there are many role players in EQEmu really. You can view the server list here:

http://www.eqemulator.org/index.php?pageid=serverlist

Click the "View" link next to a server, and most will have a brief description of the server as well as a link to the server's website where you can normally find a ton more info about them.

Roleplaying servers in the traditional DnD sense nearly do not exist anymore in EQ. As a matter of fact, you're more likely to get mocked and insulted by the majority of fellow players (in my opinion ofcourse, I may be wrong!). I don't mean to rain on your parade, just preparing you for ooc flamers. Then again, you could play the character of the oblivious not understanding common analogies and phrases! That might teach em'!'

Woot, 19.. plus my +9 charisma bonus! I win!

Edit #2: Speaking of which, I think Infinity's Edge will be a RP friendly server. Might want to lean in that direction.

I used to RP on live all the time, but there's a big difference between live and emu. In 90% of the cases, emulated servers are several times easier than live which has a tendency to detach players a little more from their characters and surroundings. I haven't played on the emu in almost a year, but if you really want to find a server where you won't get mocked for roleplaying your toon (I've seen it over and over and over, even witnessed someone get disbanded from a guild merely for speaking like an ogre, even though he was a GREAT player) then you prolly want to find a server with slow exp progression.

I've found that roleplaying with humour (Terry Prachett style) seems to go down OK most of the time. Seems to me that there are too many people who treat the game way too seriously to appreciate hard-core RP. Ultimately, pen and paper gaming is still the only way to do that IMHO.

Gm says, 'The ogre overpowers you and slits your throat.'

I think your ogre is actually a hill giant, and it seems it slashes you.. for about 25 damage! :)
