Default Getting tired

I have followed the instruction word from word, I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times with each time double and triple checking to make sure I had did the setup guide point by point. Everytime I start Eq, I get the whole patch thing, so maybe I was hoping someone could tell me what I am doing wrong. I am running windows vista home premium, Pentium (R) Dual Core CPU.

Did you change you eqhost file in the EQ directory? That would be the first thing to check.

Yes I did, I even made sure to delete any and all trailing spaces.

Edit, I have spent almost 3 hours trying to figure out why it isn't working.

Patching means your shortcut is to everquest.exe, not eqgame.exe.

eqgame.exe bypasses the automated patcher.
