Possible Coding Bug?
I'm not much of a computer guy but I found something that might be more of a problem with coding; I hope this is the right place to post this.
There seems to be an issue with online with fighting npc's with pets. When targeted on the npc, if you kill its pet with a reposite it will do the following.
1. disables you from doing melee dmg to the npc: this could be something along the lines of the system momentarily targeting on the pet when the pet dies but is unable to register that you're still on the original npc... just a thought. In this case, turning off and on auto attack does nothing. The npc's melee dmg comes through fine on your end, but you can do nothing about it, except casting direct dmg spells, and probably dots too.
2. Which brings us to the next thing this does. The npc's hit point meter on the targeting bar freezes in this case. You can cast direct dmg all you want, but it freezes at the point you reposited the pet and does not go down. If you switch to other character screens their targeting bar seems unaffected, and although I haven't tested it properly, i'm assuming that your frozen character's dd spells are getting through.
A couple of work arounds have been found for this, ie. hitting the tab button twice will clear and retarget you on the npc and wipe the bogus-ness (I haven't personally tried this but someone said they've had the same problem for a while and this seems to work for them), and targeting on another npc, and then back to the original will clear it as well.
The best places to recreate this scenario is in either Maiden's eye (fighting Xin Thall Centien's, or Xi Xaui's) or in the basement of Ssraeshza Temple (fighting the skeletons in the tunnel, or probably any shadow knight class down there).
Hope this helps.
Thx!
