Default Quests not working - please help

quest npc's aren't responding to hail or anything.

The quests work, the are copy / pasted from this form into georges tools quest editor.

When I look under the quest folder next to the npc name, instead of a green check mark, it has a blue question mark.

Any ideas?

The blue question mark just mean that it hasn't been versioned with a SVN. If you copy/pasted the files from your download location, it should be fine. It is possible that you don't have the map files in the right location. They should be in your emu\maps folder; not the emu\maps\maps folder or anything like that.

i got the same problem .... the basic functions are fine ... merchants, bank ... npc roaming etc.

But they dont react on me ... or is that because i use a GM account to play ?
also all mobs conn indiff to me but, assist if attacked.

Something else ... fire giants in solb drop one trillion plat each.If you loot them you are instantly encubered :-(
Especially the first 3 ... the ones in tranix room. BUT not the ones outside the Castle between bridge, that leads to Naggy ? *shrug* any ideas ?

Sounds like you haven't downloaded and installed the maps.

Are you sure they went into the maps folder and it is not eqemu\maps\maps?

perl will print an error to the console(but not log) if it encounters a fatal error, perhaps you could post the console output after hailing a npc or two with a quest.

Not sure whether you are using PEQ or AX install, but I'm fairly certain they need to be in the \Maps folder under \Emequ\Maps (for PEQ, though it's been a while since I used this installation) or \axclassic (for AX). So, the folder structure might look like this:

c:\eqemu\maps\maps\*.*

or

c:\Program Files\AXClassic\Maps\*.*

. . . depending of course on just where your emu directory resides. Try copying them from f:\build\maps to whichever location makes sense based on my logic above.
