Default Need Help!!!

ive done everything excactly how the guide sais to do them, steps 1-5. When i load up Everquest it starts to open up then gives me this Message.

The instruction at 0x1000foce referenced memory at oxfffffffc the memory could not be read. Click on ok to terminate the program.

What could i be doing wrong? Please help me resolve this issue. thanks.

If it is your first time running the game, make sure your desktop resolution is not widescreen. Use something like 1280x1024 or 1600x1200. That will help if it is the setup program that is actually crashing.

Otherwise, normal common sense rules apply. Update video drivers, make sure you have the latest version of DirectX 9, etc.

Check the FAQ in my sig for some suggestions. And yeah it sounds like a resolution, or driver, or DX9 issue.

running windows 7, i have updated dx9, tryed all possible resolutions... now its just opening up to a black screen for 5 seconds and returning to my desktop as if nothing happened. Guess im not meant to relive eq lol. back to wow i guess.

Have you tried manually setting it to windowed mode?

To be clear, when I said try different resolutions, I meant to change your desktop resolution before running the game until you get past the initial setup, not the game resolution.
