Char Screen Disconnects

Just curious but is the only thing that can cause people outside your network dropping, when they try to enter from char screen, port forwarding?

I've been port forwarding since Warcraft 3 so I'm fairly certain I've got that correct, Static IP on my comp and all... all three inits i got are 5998
