Shared Memory

I know there are a ton other posts regarding this issue, however after going through each one I was unable to remedy this problem. This is a brand new server build (my first as well). When i click my startup.bat I get an error.

Error Loading items: EQemu exception (Shared Memory) in ..\..\common\memory_mapped_file.cpp at line (130): Could not open a file for this shared memory segment.

I do have a shared folder.
The shared folder contains base_data, faction, items, loot_drop, loot_table, skill_caps, spells.
The shared folder is NOT read only.
Shared_memory.exe is being run from the same directory as world.exe and provides no errors when ran.
I have tried deleting the contents of shared folder and rerunning shared memory.
I have tried sourcing in a new spells.sql as that worked for some folks.
Initially the server appears on the list for me, but after creating a character and attempting to log in the server crashes
Edit: After crashing the server creating a character, i was sucessfully able to log into the server. I had others try to log in and they had the same result. Everytime someone made a character and logged into server the server would crash.
Once ingame you start naked and there are no NPCs present in any zone

When you created your database exactly what files did you source? Chances are you missed some required updates.

I found that the initial error i am getting;

Error Loading items: EQemu exception (Shared Memory) in ..\..\common\memory_mapped_file.cpp at line (130): Could not open a file for this shared memory segment.

happens as soon as i start World.exe

A little more information.

As soon as a new character is created, the only two cmd windows that remains are usc.exe and one that is just called "0:sleeping".
Prior to this, I have world.exe, usc.exe, and "0:sleeping".

I know you probably abbreviated a few of the sql names..but, there's a few in there I'm just not sure where they came from...

Both that guide and the linux one on the wiki make references to database versioning that no longer exists, and is adding confusion.

As of the time of writing, the EQEmu source is at Revision 2501, so we need to source in any SQL updates with a number between 2295 and 2501 (there are 14 of them).

That is the problem, the db is not 2501, it is now date based.

Sounds like you sourced in unneeded sqls.

I need to run but if your issue is not solved I will try to help you later. But it looks like the daily db stopped at 8-11-2014, if so, then should just need two required sqls sourced in after that, dated 8-12 and 8-18-2014 in the /utils/sql/git directory. Assuming your source is built on 8-18-2014 or later.

So drop_system, source peqbeta, source those 2 sqls, should be set.

The August 11th release is actually out-of-date when it comes to database changes, meaning you have to source every new SQL file in the required folder from 2014_07_10_npc_spells.sql onwards.

I appreciate everyone's assist on this matter. I noticed on the front page there may be some problems with this build. I decided to go with a precompiled server. I am however now having issues running almost every type of tool to edit the database. Most of the mare giving me the error that mysql.pm does not exist.
ppm install DBD-mysql provides "can't find any package that provides DBI-mysql"

This problem was solved following the guide from http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/sho...ql+perl+module if anyone else has this problem. It seems some modules were not installed/included

It's more of a "back up your database since there was a lot of under lying database code changes" than anything really might be wrong with it. Just a be safe warning rather than not warning.

You must copy the spells_us.txt file you wish to import (if you want to import a more up-to-date spells file that is)
