Oceania = Somewhere in the ocean. I'm from Atlantis orginally, moved to Australia when I was 2 years old.

There is a real place called Atlantis ? The only Atlantis I have heard of is the mythical sunken city ... you know, the one that Patrick Duffy came from in the TV series 'Man From Atlantis'

Atlantis is actually a city from the future. What we now know as Atlanta will one day break off from the mainland due to the melting of the icecaps. After some time floating out at sea, it will eventually sink to the bottom. However, by then, the coca cola plant in the city will have tainted the water enough that the populous will have mutated and developed gills.

It's all covered in the Advanced History 401 class.

Have no idea about anything relating to 1984 except that it's a year. But, I did think it would be nice if you knew my life story

Edit: Went and had a look at what it was about...looks interesting

I am reading it...right this very moment... Already the first chapter makes you see a whole society of people who are under the complete control of one person, a hateful society of people who have had their thoughts twisted till they know no better It's one of those books where you actually enjoy the first chapter...which hasn't happened many times for me.

I haven't read it but someone... I think my dad (scorp) was explaining how words can make you think differently and that book came up. You know with terms like, "big brother is watching"
memo to self: READ THAT BOOK!

lol...yes...big brother is watching. Seems odd at first and then you sort of settle into what 'his' world is like.

hmm, I did that with the L Ron Hubbard's "Mission Earth(?)" series, where you read from the side of the good guy and the bad guy, and as you read the side of the bad guy you sit there and think: "well yeah, I can see why he would do that" and sometime around the end of the series you come to and go "Wow, and here I was understanding and supporting his evil acts"
