questions about upgrading pegqb and a some other stuff

i am currently using peqdb 1265 with bots and i have a few questions regarding upgrading the db.......to upgrade do i just source in every one after 1265 thats in the upgrade foldeR? im asking this b/c when i tried that i got a few errors about having duplicate entries and then i got a few query ok's......is this what its supposed to do? i would just dump my db and source 1589 but it loads without all the items and i cant figure out how to fix it....1265 seems to be the only one that works......and will bots also work with rev 1589? and eqemu rev 1316 with bots?
