I haven't found anything yet on this when searching but I may have overlooked something. But everytime I enter my password I can't connect to the server screen and I get an error 1001 . Any ideas ? Thanks.

Yeah, I was playing today and there was a global message saying the login servers are going to be down for 30 minutes, that was about 2 hours ago though.

just to clerify.....we can play, cause eqemu fixed the prob the soe's eqlive patch messed up...but we cant play on the servers because there not up to date...? cause it still wont work for me, same re-run update patch b/s

Why is it I cannot log in though it says there are 30 people online?
Did the login server change?? :?

Error 1001: Could not connect to the EverQuest server! Please try again shortly.

it said shortly, so i have been trying about every minute. but i think what it means by shortly is after i stop trying for good. only then would it actually work. why have i been cursed?! why oh why?!

and thats that for my bi-hourly ranting. thank you.

Damn, I got in earlier today..now its not working again..
This is cruel and unusual punishment.

-Edit I tried less then a minute ago and it didnt work, I restarted EQ and now I logged in.. mabye you just have to keep restarting EQ or something untill it works, they musta changed something with the way it works

Check your eqhost.txt again. The document in the latest 5.0 zip says to use:
[Registration Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemu.net:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemu.net:5999"
"eqlogin2.eqemu.net:5999"
}

but the guide in that link above says to use:
[Registration Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemulator.net:5997"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemulator.net:5997"
}

The first one gives me a 1001 error, the second gives me a world list. Read through the guide again. =)
