new targeting spell effects?

ok i'm having some trouble on all the servers , there seems to be this new targetting effect that puts a circle round your character , usually white on your self and different colours for the con of different mobs , thats a nice "feature" but nearly everytime i click on myself and it tries to show this graphic my whole client crashes

is anyone else getting this?
is there a way i can turn this off?

i recently patched today , i swear that this "feature" wasn't there on thursday last week

disable it, its under display in options window.
