For those that are just starting out , or would just like to start with a fresh DB , this DB works with 051DR2 current source.

It might, but I doubt it. This is a blank db for DR2, as it states... and no -- DR2 and 5.1 official are NOT the same.

Im a bit confused on the DR part. are all the DR in 5.0 compatable? or are the DR1 DR2 DR3 ect all different binaries? thank you

The "DR" versions are different.. Seems like every new DR (or might even me minor cvs update) the database is incompatible tho..

At least i cant get other than crashes when i change from DR2 to 5.1 release.. So.. heh

i could understand a 5.0 dr not working with a 5.1, (hense two seperate versions. but i was just curious if the 5.0 DR1, 5.0 DR2 were just just like progress stages within the 5.0, but all still compatable with the 5.0 binaries.

5.0 DR1 - 5.0 DR2 ++ comes out before 5.0 Release. (Its just another whacky way of saying 5.0 Beta 1, 5.0 beta 2++ .. Yeah.. i know "Developer Release".. :P)

Anyway.. When the coders at arms, sit alone in their darkness and figure sumtin out, they implement this in a new code.. when enough stuff been added... wich then sometimes need different structure on the database, or new thing in the database, they end up calling it DR x.. Then they figure out some more stuff, and change some more stuff.. and they finally release it as 5.0 Binaries..

There is no connection between DR releases and a "same format DB".. I wish it was.. or at least WHAT was changed in a more easier to understand format.. hehe.. I am a n00b and i like to be handed stuff with a spoon rather than having to figure out what fields in the DB was moved where, and added/subtracted where..

Luckily guys like TCS+++ like that, and release "fixes" for their databases eventually.

Bottom line.. If you have working .EXE files.. and want to upgrade, you WILL gonna need to fiddle around with the database, else it will turn into a crash fest :)

OK , DB is updated and working with release/public CVS/dev CVS.
start_zones will be functional soon , bud9weiser has them functioning and has submitted the fixes, thx Bud :)

I am attempting to install a fresh database and had a few questions on installation. (Im using winbinaries download)

Everquest is installed and patched up to date. (11/27/03)
Latest 5.1 EqEmu is extracted to my drive.
Now here is my question. In order, what DBs do I source to get this perfect? This is what ive been sourcing and I just get about 60 minutes of the pc speaker beeping at me.

source db.sql; (11/25/03 rlease)
source ServerUpdate0.5.1.sql; (lot of beeps and errors)
source MW_051_052_alpha1.sql; (about 1 hour of beeps and errors.)

Am I not doing this right or...?

Ive tried to just source the MW_051_052_alpha1.sql FIRST but then I get booted to the server select screen with no luck so im pretty positive im not doing this part right...

Could you just post what databases I need to source and in what order and if the beeps and errors are part of the process?

Only source the MW_051_052_alpha1.sql , it is a complete DB with the updates.
Still testing , please post any bugs problems on our website forums(link to web in my sig).

I run a 5.0 with alpha3_3 + update for it.

I compiled/installed 5.1 and sourced the above DB. Everything loads fine but some of the zone points are messed up now. At least the ones associated with PoK books.

Here is an example in case I was not clear.

In PoK
Click on book to goto Grobb (Ino swamp)
Pop in Swamp in middle of zone rather than next to the book
Find my way to the book
Click on it
Pop in the middle of PoK rather than next to the Grobb book.

The books all worked with 5.0 + alpha3_3

bugs:

* Zone points bugged
* Magician spells bugged
* When you summon a pet it goes to safe point ( i believe that this is a server bug)
* felwitheb lags and disconnects the user for some reason after a few minutes... weird eh :)
* Dont see anything moving... might be server bug

Seems the link in the first post is broken well for me at least. I can download right from the website any of the older versions, and many of the other links in the forums just not this one.

hmm just checked... works :) what browser u using? try copying and pasting the URL to another browser/downloader since some of them do not handle symbols correctly (so many underscores :roll: )
