Where is the minilogin.exe file located in version 3.0?

And one other question...do I unzip the source file into the same eqemu directory as I did the main program?

Its missing from the download, so I got it from the 0.2.6 version.

When I start up EQ...how will the patcher act? Is it supposed to bypass that?

I am having loads of problems. Gonna start from scratch again. The boot5zones.win9x.bat comes up with alot of errors when i run it. Not sure why.

Stable,

It would help if you posted the error messages you are receiving and post your ini files (just make sure to blank out your db.ini password and your IP#).

Well im not having any trouble with the localhost setup, my only problem seems to be getting 1017 errors when trying to run the server thing from a remote computer on the network. After my second day of fiddling im getting pretty roxors with the .ini settings. Think ive narrowed the problem down to being in MySQL and not necessarly a problem with the EQEmu. edit:(Well at least I thought i did, killing all of the security firewalls in MySQL still doesnt fix the 1017 errors when im connecting over the internet or on my LAN :(. )

If your getting alot of errors when you run the Boot5zones.bat you need to edit that file and use "localhost" instead of "127.0.0.1" You will have to replace that everywhere you see it in that file, which will be a total of 10 times.

When it comes to actually starting EQ you dont want to run the EverQuest Patcher again, you have to bypass it. The easyiest way to do that is to go to the DOS, Command line and change your directory to the path that the eqgame.exe file resides in. On a default install that should be C:\program files\everquest If your not to slick with DOS here is how you do it.

Go to the start menu
Go to RUN
Type in COMMAND
Press Enter
You will see a DOS Prompt in a new window
Something to the effect of
C:\Windows\Administrator\Somemorecrap\blahblah\
TYPE in cd\
Press Enter
TYPE in cd program files
Press Enter
TYPE in cd everquest
Press Enter
TYPE in eqgame.exe patchme
Press Enter and wait for EQ to load

Now keep in mind that EQ plays only in full screen mode "Meaning it occupys the full screen" This is where EQW is suppose to come in, because it allows you to minimize EverQuest without it dying on you. Plus if you use EQW you dont have to mess with DOS at all because EQW does this action for you. But if you start your MiniLogin, World, and Zone Servers ahead of time, You only really need to minimize EverQuest if you are having trouble connecting.

Dont forget that each time you run the EverQuest patcher that you will need to update your eqhost.txt file in that directory. So do this once and then dont do it again. :)

Hope this helps
