I'll just say it... I'm a total RSS junkie. My RSS clients are always busy scraping together blogs and current events and all kinds of neat stuff. In cases where I like to stay current and can't get a RSS feed, I often screen-scrape with perl or nql and try to finesse the data into my feedreaders. It's ugly, but it makes it possible for me to manage the internet information overload a little bit by squeezing everything into a little app (there are tons of RSS viewers to choose from) that has the look and feel of an e-mail client.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Rich Site Summary (RSS), it is a handy standard for formatting discreet bits of data that can then be easily gathered and aggregated into useful information. A good casual overview can be found here (http://www.webreference.com/authoring/languages/xml/rss/intro/) and Oreilly's xml site has some very detailed info on it here (http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2002/12/18/dive-into-xml.html). Tons of sites already have RSS feeds (like EQEmu's sourceforge pages, for instance), and more are added all the time. If you visit a handful or more websites regularly, you too can benefit from RSS.

I recently saw a mod (http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=144548) for phpbb that lets it automatically generate RSS feeds from its forums, and would like to highly suggest that it be applied to this bb. Not sure who to ask directly (LE?), but for anyone who regularly uses this forum, it would be a great boon. Also, by registering for syndication, EQEmu would automatically grab more publicity (which could in turn foster development and sponsorship). Just the opinion of a RSS junkie scouting for converts.
