Server Privleges.

Ok, after finally reading the guides section and figuring out how to connect to a server and create my own( this is very hard stuff) I am still left wondering how one gets the ability to use all commands IE. GM commands like #setlevel, if I wanted to make a 65 level character will all AAs and all skills maxed or If I wanted to spawn the Sleeper. I cannot do it on the other servers allready listed and untill I get my server up I still wont know how to do it. So just wondering, does the creator of the server have the inate ability to completely manipulate the world once in the game? And if not then how do you do it? Also cant someone be granted lilmited privledges on the other servers?

You need to goto mysql and login and type:
use eq;
Then type:
UPDATE account SET status=200 WHERE name='eqemu';

where eqemu is your account name =)

Another easy way to do it is at the command line..

type

cd\eqemu
world flag <accountname> <status>



ie.
world flag Shawn319 255

Ok I see what you all wrote. So do I only need to do those things if running my own server or even if I am playing on someone elses server. I still cant get my own server up and running so Im forced to play on others but at this point am still getting used to the way the game playes on EQEmu.

Jesus this whole process has made me feel really stupid. I downloaded and unzipped and intalled mysql. It didnt put an executable in the start menue so I went to the destination folder C\eqemu\mysql wich is where I installed it. There is no executable there either. So what the heck, how does this program run?

those two methods are for your own server, if you want to be able to summon things etc, on a server thats not your own, it would have to be a non-legit server :D

mySQL is a database program but its used via a prompt, use the <sqldir>\bin\mysql.exe, you can download other programs for a better UI, but you don't need to download mySQL or anything to play on another persons server

I see. Well, I would still like to get my own server up. Right now I am forced to use my main PC as Im not sure my old P3 Xeon with 512 of PC100 Ram and a GF3 will be enough to run as a server. If I use my PC to run the server, can I still connect to the game if its not dedicated? Can I serve and play from the same machine, if its just for messing around?

Not sure, mine has 800mb RAM and 2gig AMD and it runs okay with up to 7 people on it (most I had on) but I play on another computer :?
