i wasn't sure where to put this, so i placed it here just in case. feel free to move it if it doesn't suit the topic...

i was playing my woodelf ranger when i realised that i could use "tracking". (note: this is my first time playing eq, so i don't know how to use everything). i placed "tracking" on one of the hot buttons and i clicked on it to use it. a "window" (if that's what you want to call it) popped up and showed a grey box with two drop down boxes below it. one box was for how to arrange the list (ie: by distance, etc) and the other one was to turn off or on player tracking. the problem is i can't get my character to track anyone. i am assuming that the names of npc's and/or players are supposed to appear as i pass them by in the big grey box, but i don't see anything.

if this feature hasn't been implemented yet, then let me know and i'll wait patiently. if it has been implemented, please let me know what i did wrong.... and explain in detail what is supposed to happen so that i know what to expect.... right now, i'm playing on the fish-wolf server (if that makes a difference), i'm level 10, and my skill level for tracking is 0 (when i went to the ranger GM, there was no option to train it)

any help will be appreciated.... thanx!

In fact, its not dynamic. You need to close and open the tracking window each time you want it to be refreshed. that's pretty boring but is has as good side to make your skill raise more quickly :)

Yea, playing on EQLive I bound tracking to the left and right keys and minimised it out of the way, got my tracking up real fast. I also did that for sense heading :)

I don't think it's 'bugless' yet anyway...

so all you have to do is click tracking once, minimize the window that pops up, and just keep clicking the tracking button? or do you have to close the window everytime? cuz i was trying that and my skill wasn't going up.... i know it should take a few times before i go up a level (ie sense heading) but it is just not wanting to go up from zero, and i can't jump start it training with a ranger GM...

anyone from a legit server that can confirm tracking works?

TD (this is hellion from #demonic... long time no blab)

The tracking window works once per time you click track. Then you have to reopen the window (i've noticed this, my primaries are always druids).
